Cape Winelands Day ToursLoad up your camera, and charge your batteries, the Cape Winelands are one of the most beautiful places you will ever photograph. On this tour we visit the historical towns of Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl.Stellenbosch is situated in an exceptionally beautiful area dominated by the soaring peaks of the Hottenstot-Holland mountain range and is the largest and most established of all the Cape Winelands. Stellenbosch is also known as Die Eike Stad (The town of Oaks) with its Oak lined streets and historical Cape Dutch buildings. We visit the most photogenic best kept secrets in the whole of Stellenbosch for a wine tasting, and then spend some time photographing the historical farm buildings and beautiful gardens. You may even just prefer a quiet stroll or some time to sit alone contemplating... The town of Franschhoek has an atmosphere of its own. Meaning French Corner it is just that: a little corner in the Cape with strong French influences due to the French Huguenots of old. Franschhoek has earned the reputation for itself as the Gourmet Capital of South Africa, and for this reason we have lunch here, at one of my favourite restaurants. Paarl is South Africas third oldest town, and derives its name from the massive, rounded granite rocks directly to the west of town, which were witnessed by an early explorer as they glistened like pearls after a rainstorm, paarl being Dutch for pearl. "What's your Flava" Wine Tour. We enjoy the day visiting and photographing a variety of wine farms, and concentrate on the elements that make a good landscape photograph, and the elements that make a good wine, off course! There are a selection of wine farms to visit in Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, and Paarl, and the itinerary of the tour may be adapted to suit your interests. Please let me know what wine you enjoy drinking, or would like to taste, and I will customize the tour for you according to the following criteria: a)The wine farm must produce an exceptional good quality wine of your liking (let's face it- life is to short to waste it on bad wine!) b) From a photographic point of view the wine farm must be aesthetically pleasing. "Pete's Favourite" Winelands Photo Tour This is the perfect Winelands Photo Tour for the discerning wine and nature lover. After a early morning hike in the beautiful and picturesque Jonkershoek Mountains in Stellenbosch, we reward ourselves with a wine tasting at an very exclusive wine farm. These wines are not available elsewhere South Africa, as most of their wines are for the export market! Choose either from a two hour waterfall hike, or a longer four hour panoramic hike.
